Black Velvet

His Place, Her Rules.jpg

This drink is a study in contrasts. The stout brings rich notes of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt, while the Champagne delivers bright acidity, crispness, and elegance. Together, it’s a bold, refined duet - as dark and effervescent as a stolen kiss in a moonlit corridor.

Ingredients

Instructions

5 oz chilled stout beer (traditionally Guinness)

5 oz chilled Champagne or dry sparkling wine

Chill your glass: A flute or tulip glass works best.

Pour the stout: Slowly pour the stout beer into the glass until it’s about halfway full.

Float the champagne: Gently pour the Champagne over the back of a spoon to float it atop the beer, creating two distinct layers.

Serve immediately and enjoy the visual drama and surprising harmony.
